Biography
The Chicago four piece (vocalist/rhodes/guitars- Curt Carson, guitarist- Tullio Cox, bassist- Nick Coman, and drummer-Mark Robinson) has what all bands want- style and substance. Proof positive that rock still has soul, FFTE infuses a rich blend of driving rhythms, mounds of mysticism and material loaded with mighty hooks. The band combines the provocative musings of Coldplay, the experimentation of Incubus, and the ambiance of Death Cab for Cutie. Throw in a healthy dose of Rhodes Electric piano and lay Curt Carson's unmistakable vocals over it and you have the ear candy that could lead to both critical and fan acclaim.
Originating from a breeding ground for artists such as Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is... and The Redwalls, FFTE brings four North side Chicago boys together to brand their own unique offering to the indie scene. Front man Curt Carson brings his Seattle-rooted rock and poet's soul to life, as Tullio Cox fills the tracks with full and haunting, sometimes soaring, melodies. Bassist Nick Coman and drummer Mark Robinson provide the subtle yet steady influence needed to complete the sound and keep the tracks tight.
FFTE has recently released their second demo of 4 tracks as they continue to round out their debut album. The band is currently booking live shows in downtown Chicago, while the single "The Way" has garnered play on local Q101. Although new together (the band has been playing together for less than a year) the individual members all bring serious chops to the stage. Carson has played in in front of crowds of over 5,000, sharing stages with the likes of David Crowder Band. Cox has shared the stage with numerous artists, such as P.O.D, Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, and Monday's Hero. Both Coman and Robinson have toured nationally and locally. This collective experience gives the fan an opportunity to not just attend a concert but be a part of a great live rock show. FFTE doesn't want to be just rock stars. They are serious about the world we live in. At their first show, the band partnered with Diverse City, a Chicago NFP, for their demo release party. All proceeds from the event went to benefit a local homeless shelter and raised over 600 canned goods. The release party drew over 200 people to the Metropolis Performing Arts Center in downtown Arlington Heights.
